Be Limitless
How would I feel if one day I woke up and lost my ability to see?
I’ve often asked myself that question, wondering how I would face it, how I would reach acceptance. The truth is, I didn’t know the answer… until I met this amazing woman.
It all began when I received an unusual tour request through one of the platforms I use as a freelance tour guide. The message immediately caught my attention like a lightning strike.
I could feel something different about it, and my intuition told me this was meant to happen. I didn’t just read the request; I felt it. Deep inside, my mind was already saying, “This tour is going to happen.”
And yes, after a few conversations. DONE DEAL.
Of course, a few doubts crossed my mind. First, Would this be too dangerous? Second, Would it take longer than usual? But I quickly brushed those thoughts aside. I chose adventure over fear. After all, no risk, no story.

That was the moment I met the woman who redefined what it means to be limitless.
Gretchen, from the U.S., a traveler, a marathon runner, a mountain peak master, and an incredibly inspiring human being.
This picture was taken on our way heading to Mt. Odake.
Far beyond my expectations, we conquered not just one, but three mountain peaks that day. Finishing only thirty minutes later than a regular hike. Considering how challenging Mt. Nokogiriyama can be (I personally rank it among toughest trail), that’s nothing short of incredible.
Throughout the climb, I kept repeating one of my favorite reminders for her:
“Be careful, Jesus is on the right side… or Jesus is on the left side.”
If she’s reading this, she definitely knows what I mean by that.

Each summit we reached made me prouder of her. Not just because we completed the itinerary, but because of how she did it. Despite her visual limitation, she showed no hesitation, only determination. She reminded me that no mountain is too high when your belief in yourself is stronger than your doubts.
Her story isn’t just inspiring, it’s a living testament to the power of mindset. Limitations exist only if we allow them to.
This may be the end of this story, but it’s only the beginning of many more adventures to come. I can’t wait to see what’s next in Gretchen’s journey and I’m honored to be part of it.
Cheers! Gretchen.
Keep proving that the human spirit truly has no limits.
